We all know that Visual effects in the modern movies are an essential asset for the success. It involves in the mixing of live-action footage which is made by the filming cameras and computer-generated imagery or digital effects to create environments which look realistic, the main reason of the usage of artificial visual effects to create those effects which are impossible to make in live action being too dangerous or impossible to manifest in reality realm.
2018 yet remains the best year for the advance CGI & Visual Effect, but few artists took the artistry of visual arts to another level. This year nominees are apparently the chosen ones for their best ideas and peak of creativity. Five films were decent selections for the nomination for best visual effects as follows:

Blade Runner 2049
Visual artists for the film are John Nelson, GerdNefzer, Paul Lambert and Richard R. Hoover. The film does not ignore the nostalgic charm of the original sequel of blade runner. However, there is a work of wonder secret hidden behind the scene recreation of character ‘Rachael’ which was played by actress Sean Young. CGI effects are used to retain the original look of original character without any “uncanny valley.” behavior. In this credit goes to the artists who came up with this brilliant idea. Artist John Nelson is forth time. He previous nominations were the forIron man (2008), I, Robot (2004) & Gladiator (2000).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
This movie did a brilliant job of using CGI assets and character designs with high definition details of visuals. Visual artists for this film are Christopher Townsend, Guy Williams, Jonathan Fawkner and Dan Sudick. According to previous records of the Academy Award nomination, Christopher Townsend is nominated second time in this movie. He was previously nominated for IronMan 3 (2013) Artist Guy Williams is nominated the third time. He already secured his place for Iron Man 3 (2013), and The Avengers (2012). This is also the second nomination for Jonathan Fawkner. He previous work was Guardians of the galaxy (2014). Artist Dan Sudick formally nominated for Captain America: The winter soldier (2014), for Iron Man 1,2 & 3 (2013), The Avengers (2012), the war of the worlds (2005) and Master and Commander – The far side of the world (2003).

Kong: Skull Island
The gigantickong effects when it is in berserk mode, Hulking creatures fighting and all with the CGI effects were apparently the best part of the movie Kong: Skull Island. The visual artists for the movie were Stephen Rosenbaum, Jeff White, Scott Benza and Mike Meinardus. Stephen Rosenbaum is previously known for his impressive work in Avatar (2009) &forrestgump(1994) Jeff White worked The Avengers (2012). Scott Benza is nominated third time with this movie. He was previously nominated for: Transformers: Dark of the moon (2011) &transformers (2007). This is the first Academy Award nomination for Mike Meinardus.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Who doesn’t know about the galaxy war orientated fantasy of “Star Wars.” A previous generation or newest generation, both equally admire this series. The bold moves of the creativity for this film is made by Ben Morris, Mike Mulholland, Neal Scanlan and Chris Corbould. Ben Morris is winning second time with this film. He won for visual effect in The Golden Compass. This is the first nomination for Mike Mulholland. Neal Scanlan was previously nominated for Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) &Babe (1995). And finally, this is fourth Academy Award nomination for Chris Corbould.
War for the Planet of the Apes
The fifth nominated movie is War for the Planet of the Apes. Visual works on the film are done by Joe Letteri, Daniel Barrett, Dan Lemmon and Joel Whist.
